Apple announced on Monday that the new Mac OS X Snow Leopard will be released on August 28, 2009.
Current users can upgrade to Snow Leopard for a reasonable $29, with a five-user family pack costing $49.  You can go ahead and pre-order the new operating system Wednesday or just pick it up at your local store Friday.
