We heard and responded to some Windows 7 release date rumors last week but we have the final and official word from Microsoft, finally.

The Windows 7 Release Candidate  will be available on the Microsoft Developers Network as well as to TechNet subscribers for a download on April 30, while it will be made available to the general public May 5.  So the rumors, this time, were right on the nose.

This Windows 7 release is supposed to be the very last code release before the final version is delivered, unless, of course, more bugs are found.
