Ramona and Beezus is a 2010 American film adaptation, featuring characters from the Ramona series of children's novels by Beverly Cleary. The film is rated G . Ramona and Beezus is being co-produced by 20th Century Fox's Fox 2000 division and Walden Media, who have announced a planned release date of March 2010. The film is directed by Elizabeth Allen, who previously directed Aquamarine. The screenplay is by Laurie Craig and Nick Pustay. The book series was previously adapted as the 1988 TV series Ramona, starring Sarah Polley in the title role. 9-year-old Joey King was selected from a nationwide casting call to star as the rambunctious Ramona Quimby, while Selena Gomez (of the Disney Channel Original Series Wizards of Waverly Place) will play her long suffering older sister Beezus. John Corbett and Bridget Moynahan have been cast as the girls' parents; Ginnifer Goodwin will portray their Aunt Bea. Hutch Dano, star of the Disney XD series Zeke and Luther, will play Henry Huggins.
